    Mission Statement

The mission of the Newark Division of Fire and Emergency Medical Services is to provide a range of programs designed to safely and efficiently protect the lives and property of the citizens of the City of Newark, Ohio from the adverse effects of fires, sudden medical emergencies or exposure to dangerous conditions created by man or nature.

 
 

NFD Facilities & Equipment

  NFD has progressed from horse drawn hose wagons and bucket brigades to a modern-day department with 2 Engines, 1 Rescue, 3 Medic Units,105 foot Tower, 75 foot Ladder and a Command Unit. Each fire and EMS response vehicle is capable of advanced cardiac care and is staffed with paramedics every day.

 

Our professional firefighters and paramedics are aided in their work by state of the art turnout gear with Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus and Thermal Imaging Cameras to find hidden fires. On duty crews train daily in areas such as fire, safety and EMS to ensure the best possible service to the citizens of Newark. Our command staff and firefighters are committed to professional excellence, safety and efficiency.
